Fingerprint writing

As part of our Kaitiaki of Self unit (being guardians of ourselves) R6 students have been writing all about themselves in a really unique way.

Over the last two weeks we've been discussing who we are and why it's important we know about ourselves and each other.

To assist with this our students took their own fingerprints, these were enlarged and then the Mo'unga patterns and grooves were used to guide the pattern of student writing. Our students wrote about their families, holidays, goals, likes/dislikes, experiences etc., whatever they think is an important building block of their own identity.

Everybody's fingerprint is unique and their stories are unique. Now on display in R6 is their fingerprint writing.

This should also be on your child's learning portfolio, so please get them to share this with you if they haven't done so already.
