Adventure
This term the year 7's have been focusing on recount writing.
On a bright and sunny day out at Dr's Point my dad and I went on a small adventure. We didn't pack anything for we weren't going for long. We set up White Road to the rusty train tracks that intruded it's way through White Road and around the mountain. We looked one way, a dense pine forest. We looked the other way, endless sea as far as the eye can see. We decided to go the way that looked flat.
We walked round the corner round the hill and I found a weird grey plastic thing. I showed dad and he didn't know what it was. We walked further and I found two more. Then I found a fourth! By now dad had started collecting them and when we got to the tunnel we had 21!
We sat down and looked out at the view but then the ground began to shake and glowing yellow eyes appeared out of the darkness of the tunnel! "TRAIN" I yelled, we launched off the tracks and tumbled down the tussock hill.
When we stopped rolling we stood up immediately. After that big fright I now needed to pee. I ducked behind a gorse bush, but I heard a rustle in the bushes behind me. I turned around and a huge goat leaped out of the bushes. I tried to run but with it's sturdy horns it launched me into the air and I landed face flat on the ground.
