Year 8

As the year winds down, our Year 8 students are in the midst of an exciting flurry of activities, showcasing their learning, creativity, and preparation for the future.

Financial Literacy Unit

In Term 4, Year 8 students delved into the intricacies of financial literacy. From understanding minimum wage to navigating taxes, earning interest, and even contemplating renting a house – the students have been on a journey of practical knowledge. This hands-on learning culminates in the much-anticipated Trading Day project. On this day, students transform ideas into reality, selling products and services, all while earning and spending Tahuna dollars. It's not just a day of creativity but potentially the birth of future businesses! The Year 8 Trading Day is set to unfold on Monday, the 11th of December.

Preparing for the Future

Simultaneously, Year 8 students have been diligently preparing for their end-of-year assessments. These assessments serve not only as a reflection of their academic growth but also as a crucial handover of data to their future high schools. The orientation day experience has left them buzzing with excitement about the adventures that await them in 2024.

Celebrations Await

To celebrate the culmination of their hard work throughout 2023, the Year 8 cohort is gearing up for a day of fun at Bowline and Moana Pool. It's a well-deserved outing for our students. And, as we bid farewell to the academic year, our final celebration is just around the corner. The Year 8 Disco promises to be an unforgettable event, scheduled for Wednesday, the 13th of December. Stay tuned for more details and get ready to dance the night away!
