Stewart Island Preparation 2023

Reminder Time - Notices Attached to this article

A few wee reminders. Please get in touch if you have any questions at all.

 - Gumboots work at treat in Stewart Island for obvious reasons! Because the tent site is 100m away from the main area gumboots will keep feet nice and dry.

- The importance of a good quality waterproof coat. We don't let the weather stop us and if you are dry under your jacket you tend to be pretty happy. (Mr Lousley has Kathmandu ones to borrow if needed)

- Winter rated sleeping bag for obvious reasons.

- I use Blackmores Ginger Pills for Motion Sickness. Fully herbal and no chemicals and they work! Last years trips across were spectacular! Only a few students lost their lunch however.

- You would of seen that we don't get back till 8:30 pm (ish) on the Friday night. Your child will text you to let you know the confirmed ETA. We will stop in Invercargill for dinner and head back non-stop.

- Thanks to those that have paid already. If you haven't please ensure the trip is paid for by the 16th September at the latest. Any problems please contact Vanessa in the office.

- Home baking or similar please put in a ice cream container or similar so we can put in the recycling down there.

-  Any medication that we need to look after please put in a snap lock or container and clearly mark. If students self medicate it is fine for them to hold on to their own medicines.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions
