THE WALL
By Emma Green
On the very first day at CAMP BERWICK we had to get put into our cabin groups and then meet back at the flag post which was placed on a small grassy hill.
When everyone returned back to the flagpole we slowly made our way to the great wall, there were 3 walls in total. A tiny wall, Medium sized wall and a gigantic wall that was really high it nearly looked impossible!!
The small wall was very easy to get over and no-one really needed help getting over, but for the medium wall things were a bit different. It was my turn on the medium wall, I got some of my friends to cup their hands together so I could slot my feet into them while the others said they would be there just in case.
As I got to the top, my hands both slipped which caused me to fall from quite high up but all my friends were there and just as I was about to hit the ground they grabbed my arms and legs. They were holding me up off the brown pointy wood chips. They slowly placed me on the ground and I suddenly felt an urge to have another try. This time I made it over the wall successfully but 5 minutes later it was time for the Humongous wall everyone was a little bit nervous because this wall was so tall and if you slipped and fell like I did, it would be very scary!! My class did so well we got 21 out of 25 students up and over the giant wall. We didn’t spend loads of time at the walls, but enough to give it a go. I really enjoyed the walls because everyone showed great teamwork and were really supportive for the people who were scared of climbing up the walls.
