Nic Schollum Places 3rd in NZ Luge Champs
During the holidays in Naseby, a small town in the Maniototo Region, there is a unique sport that is the only one in the Southern Hemisphere and it is a luge. You might think of the luges in Queenstown and Rotorua, but this is different. In this luge it is made of ice instead of concrete and you ride a sled instead of a cart and put your hands down on the ice or steer by pushing with your feet instead of using steering wheel. Every winter, the Naseby Luge Nationals is on and Nic Schollum of Tahuna participated and managed to get third place with Louie Coburn (1st) and Jake Smith (2nd).
