Chalk Angles
We took our geometry work outside today to draw and label angles.
The students worked in small groups to display their learning and knowledge with angles. There were sets tasks to complete challenges involving:
+ drawing angles
+ labelling angles (interior and exterior)
+ using the mathematical language of quarter turns, clockwise, anti-clockwise, arms, vertices, positive/negative angles
+ measuring and estimating the inside and the outside of an angle.
+ linking the degrees to our number knowledge i.e. a quarter turn is 90 degrees and 90 is 1/4 of 360.
Lastly, there was a chalk art activity with a set criteria around using certain types of angles as part of their art.
It was great to see and hear their knowledge as they worked together throughout the lesson.
