Tahuna take out top Spelling spot

The Tahuna 1 team of Aidan Blakie, Lily Barker and Gregor Watts took out the top spot on Thursday when they won the Extra Otago Spelling bee.

The spelling bee was conducted via zoom and using Education Perfect after the 2020 competition had to be cancelled because of Covid restrictions.

Students had to answer questions in 10 different sections such as speed spelling, mystery definitions, punctuation and dictionary skills.

This was a fun experience for the students involved and we were thrilled to come away with 1st place!
