Crash carts with Ester

Sean and Owen give the crash carts a go!

Last week Room 8 had an awesome time learning about forces and physics with Ester from the University of Otago Physics Department.

Room 8 got to each have a turn testing out the crash carts and modifying different elements of the crash to get a bigger result.

Ester taught us about reactions, forces, motions and some of Newton's laws around physics.

We really enjoyed getting to crash into each other!

After the crash carts we had a go using a gyroscope wheel to turn ourselves on a rotating stool. This was tricky as the wheel was quite heavy, but once we learned how it worked we were away.
