Sporting Opportunities in Term One

Sports are underway already in Term One. Please remind your children to go along to meetings if they are interested in playing a summer sport.

Welcome to the summer season of sport for the first term at Tahuna. It is time to start thinking about what sporting code your child will be involved in this term.

The sports on offer for this term are:

Rippa Rugby – Mixed, Mondays after school commences week 6 on Tahuna Grounds

Futsal – Boys and Girls; mixed teams should numbers allow, Tuesdays 3.30-5.30 Edgar Centre Portsmouth Drive

Touch Rugby- Boys, Girls and mixed, Thursday 3.30pm – 5pm Oval Kensington

Volleyball- Boys & Girls; mixed team should numbers allow, Fridays 3.30-5.00 Edgar Centre Portsmouth Drive

There are also opportunities to for students to participate in triathlons held around Dunedin. As these activities are invitations information will be sent to parents with students who are keen to participate.

Tahuna will also participate in swimming competitions, cricket for boys and girls and an intermediate water polo competition and more information will be forwarded soon.

There is a cost involved for all codes, depending on numbers for each team and association fees. School PE uniform is sufficient for codes. Bibs are provided if required. Fees must be paid before participating in any sporting fixture

Transport and supervision of your child will be your responsibility. Parent coaches or managers for each code are always welcomed.
