Student Wellbeing and Close Contacts

If you have cold or flu symptoms, or if you have visited a location of interest, stay home and call your doctor, iwi health provider or Healthline 0800 358 5453. They will let you know whether you should have a COVID-19 test.

The advice we have received is that it is not until that someone in your family tests positive for Covid19 do all people in that family become a close contact or a casual contact and need to test and isolate.  You are welcome to send your child to school if they are fit and well while you await the results of a test.

  1. If you are in an area where COVID-19 is in the community there is no need to get tested unless you have symptoms, are a close contact of a confirmed case or have been advised to get tested.
  2. If you were at a location of interest at the stated time, follow the Ministry of Health’s advice for what to do.
