Daffodil Day Fundraiser for the Cancer Society

One of the key fundraisers run by the Tahuna School Council every year is the Daffodil Day fundraiser for the Cancer Society. This year the Council received fantastic support from our Food Tech department and from our Volunteer Club.

Throughout the week leading up to Daffodil Day, school councillors went around classrooms selling daffodil pins for a gold coin donation. It was great to see so many student supporting this cause.

In addition, Food Tech students did a fantastic job baking an amazing selection of cupcakes. Students then gave up their lunchtimes to sell these to fellow students. Many thanks to all those involved in this.

Finally, our wonderful Volunteer Club ran a carwash during their Friday elective. This gave a great boost to the funds raised. Thanks very much to the Volunteer Club for their support.

Overall, we raised a fantastic $580 for the Cancer Society.
