Kaitiakitanga- Guardian of the Past

This week our class has been working with Room 6 to learn about Kupe and his crew's journey across the Pacific ocean to discover Aotearoa. We have been working together to explore his adventure and our city's history.

Every day we join Room 6 and do activities relating to Kaitiakitanga. Some of them were about what would have happened if Kupe hadn’t found NZ first, whilst others were not related at all to his journey like mixing an introduced species of animal with a native species. I really enjoy doing this as it is different from the usual maths and spelling.
