Our worm farms
Here's a photo gallery of our final prototypes for worm farms at Tahuna.
During our PBL (Project Based Learning) our Äkonga and kaiako learned a lot about the waste problem at Tahuna, sustainability measures, the design process and critical thinking.
Each group created a unique way to design worm farms for busy school classrooms. We learned about how the design process is a never ending cycle, each prototype is not the end, just a further refinement to make the product better.
Included on each worm farm were facts about Tahuna's food waste problem, educational messages, plus more.
Also included with each worm farm had a QR code that linked to a report they had written on worm farms to add additional educational benefit for the user.
These worm farm prototypes will be on display in our shared space, so when you're waiting for our teacher catch-up (sorry if I'm running late), take the time to check them out.
