Kia ora koutou nau mai ki Tahuna
On Tuesday we welcomed all Tahuna students back to school in our traditional way. New students and teachers waited outside our hall and were called in and welcomed by Te Taiopeka and the rest of the school. It is a symbolic ceremony that makes the new arrivals become and feel part of Tahuna. Staff were also introduced to the students and a warm welcome was given to our International Students.
We also took the time to discuss the values of Tahuna - Respect, Responsibility, Creativity and Success and how they represent a guide and expectation for everything we do at Tahuna. The Tahuna way will be discussed and modelled by teachers to ensure that all our Tahuna students know exactly what our expectations are in every school context whether in class, around the school or outside the school representing Tahuna. Please feel free to talk to your children and discuss what they mean.
