Learning Calligraphy
In Room 19 and 19A, every Monday morning we have Mandarin with Zuo Lao Shi. This week was special, as Zuo Lao Shi brought with her Calligraphy Brushes, Black Ink and Ricepaper.
We covered all the tables in newspapers and got into groups, one pottle of ink between six people. Zuo Lao Shi handed out the Calligraphy Brushes and two pieces of normal paper each. We would have one chance later to get our chosen character perfect on a piece of Ricepaper. Zou Lao Shi put some character choices up on the TV, including a Pheonix and Dragon. We would choose our character, then practice it as much as we could on the normal paper.
Once we were ready to try on the Ricepaper, Zuo Lao Shi handed the pieces out.
It was a difficult, but fun lesson.
