The Great New Zealand Classroom
Room 8 students about to start the 1km cycle from Daisy bank to Hyde, on the rail trail as part of their Outdoor education experience at Sutton.
Camp Sutton, 9km this side of Middlemarch, was the destination for the Rm 8 Camp, .....and what else did they get up to? Finding lizards on their tramp to Lake Sutton, in the Rock and Pillar range, incidentally this is New Zealand's only salt lake. Night walk to the old chinese bridge, up bright and early to cook their breakfast, the longest day rotation challenge; air pistols-confidence course-riding bike round obstacle course - weetbix challenge.....to name a few activities. Just another great outdoor experience to encourage an understanding and appreciation of what New Zealand has to offer when you leave the city.
