In math, we have been learning about pie graphs, and if you did not know they are also called circle graphs. we also play Maths is fun in maths is fun we do Math Trainer. it is where we put in a one-minute timer and 4 or 3 seconds in so if the 3 or 4 seconds are up it shows us the answer. it also trains our weaknesses it will ask a couple of questions before coming up again that is how it trains us.
In guided reading, we have read biographies on Thomas Edison, Sir Edmond Hillary, David Attenborough, Dwayne Johnson, and Pablo Picasso. It's been really interesting seeing all the information and cool facts about these famous people. We have to read about them and then we have to do a quiz on them. We all get a new topic each week. In writing, we have been learning about how to write biographies. They are cool way of celebrating as well as informing us about all the amazing things people have achieved in their lives.
In PBL (Project Based Learning) we have been learning about… Ko Wai Au. Ko Wai Au tells us a story about how the North and South islands were made. The North Island is a giant stingray fished up by Maui with his hook being his Grandma’s jaw bone. The south island is made up of 4 boys and a waka the 4 boys being Aoraki and his brothers They were out on a voyage to find Papatuanuku., Aoraki, the tallest of them, is the mountain that we all know as Mt Cook. In Fitness, we have been learning about kotuitui. Kotuitui is a football and how Maui slowed the sun all in one it is very fun. Sometimes we get to play football or games where we have to run from line to an over line but in the middle there are taggers. But the second time they had to keep a ball under control and we played it every Wednesday. After the interval sometimes in the afternoon we play manhunt or dodgeball or over games. War or team building games where we have to include everyone in room 10. Here are some photos of Kotuitui
