Korea ice dance seminar 2019 - by Benji & Gemma Pickering

On the 10th to the 17th of August, we went on a very exciting and informative trip. An ISU ice dance training seminar in Seoul, South Korea. 

It was run by some of the top ice dance coaches including the Olympic bronze medalist, Maurizio Margaglio from Italy along with Ukranian Mariya Tumanovska and Ayako Higashino from Japan. 

We learnt a huge amount of new skills from the moderators and how to do them properly, as well as bonding with other young couples who travelled from countries like India, Japan and Vietnam to improve their ice dance. 

The camp consisted of a series of on ice and off ice training sessions, such as Ballet, Ballroom and choreographic movements. The coaches always assisted us in any way we needed, and were always sympathetic if something went awry. It was a fantastic learning experience, and we hope that more young talents will get to have this opportunity, and learn great things from it, as we did.
