Alphabet Key Lockdown Poem

Tiana Stout-Roden - Year 7

Activities. We have been doing some activities around the house like ping pong. We started with the trampoline and bounced them into cups and then we went onto the dining room table.

Basketball. We had set up a basketball hoop onto our garage so that we could shoot and play a little bit of basketball.

Chores. In our house we have had to do lots and lots of chores. Like putting away fire wood, dishes, washing, cooking and more.

Designing things. Me and my mum like to make wheat bags. Wheat bags get put in the microwave and then they are heated up for you to keep warm. You find some fabric material and then you would cut it out and add in some wheat, after that you would sew the open hole and then you can heat it up for the winter.

Episodes on youtube. Sometimes in my free time I would watch youtube as something to do. My brother would do the same but he would do it 24 7.

Food. Of course to stay alive you need to eat food. Luckily the day before we found out we needed to go into isolation we went shopping. But sometimes my um would go to the supermarket and buy the essentials.

Game night. Every now and then we would all get together in the lounge and play a couple games. My favourite game that we played was giant jenga.

Hot flames. We have a mini outdoor fireplace and a couple of nights during this isolation we have used it. We would light it up and sit outside at night and watch it.

Ice blocks.During isolation we have had a few sunny days. During those sunny days we thought it would be a good idea to have some ice blocks. But we didn’t have any so we have to compromise. We grabbed a plastic cup and poured some juice into it, after that we froze it for 24 hours and we came back to check on it and there was an “ice block”.

Jacob’s ladder. Jacob's ladder is a big staircase that goes up the hill . We have walked up and down this a few times.

Kicking balls. A couple times a week we would walk up to the field and kick the rugby ball around for a bit.

Lighting. Of course light bulbs don't last forever so every now and then you need to change them. For my 8th birthday my dad gave me a disco light bulb thing and you screw it in just like a regular lightbulb and it makes the room seem like a disco.

Movie night. We have had movie night a couple of times during isolation. It is very difficult to decide a movie that we all like. But in the end we found a few to watch.

News. At 6pm every night we all have to come into the lounge and watch the news for about 10 minutes just to see what has been going on with the covid-19 and how many new cases.

Ocean views. From my house we live fairly close to the beach. If we were to walk for a bit the beach would be right there. Also if we were to walk up the hill then we have an amazing view of the ocean.

Painting. We have had a few painting times. One we were just painting portraits of whatever we wanted. Then we painted the house. We are just giving it a few more coats.

Quiz night. For quiz night we would have either set up a kahoot, or we would have made up our own questions. Funny enough everyone has won once.

Rooms. There has been a lot of work put into bedrooms. We have completely moved things around and have cleared things out.

School work. Like now we have been having to do school work. Reading, writing, maths, spelling, and more. Also cool projects like making soap fly. Whatever is on the google classroom.

Technology. Mainly my brother is on his technology 24 * 7 but I space my time out. It is ok to go on a device but not for the whole entire day. We also have been doing tech at school. Me and My brother are both in Hard materials so we have the same work.

Umbrella holder. First you grab a plastic bottle and you cut off the bottom. Then you drill whole and you thread something to hold it up through the holes. After that you would hand it over the car seat in front of you and when you come into the car you just place it in the holder.

Virtual chats. With friends I have been face timing them and we have been talking for ages.

Walks. You have to get your exercise somehow and you are allowed to go walking but only with your bubble. We have been on long walks , short walks , walks on the beach, walks up hills.

X- box. My brother and his friends go on for the whole day and all we hear is them screaming at each other.

Yawning. There have been a lot of late nights. That makes the next day full of everyone yawning.

Zoom. As you know every Monday and Friday we have a zoom meeting just to catch up about school. My mum's a teacher as well so she does zoom too.
