Welcome to our new Mandarin Language Assistants for 2019
Once again we are lucky to be able to have three amazingly talented students come to our school and cluster for this year. The have been working hard designing classes that are fun and interesting for all our students.
The Otakou Mandarin Cluster has been able to secure the services of three MLA for 2019. One feature of this has been the return of one Ms Zuo Nana. Zuo Lao Shi has come back once again for another fun filled year and is very excited to be back.
Zuo Lao Shi tells us , "I wanted to come back because I am familiar with Dunedin and I like Dunedin. In the future I want to be a teacher and grow my skills in such a wonderful city. I also love my homestay and am so happy to be back". Zuo is from Shanxi province in China. Miss Zuo is skilled in Martial Art and Classical Dance.
New to the school is Miss Xu Qi. Xu Lao Shi is from Shandong, China. She wanted to come to Dunedin because "New Zealand is a very beautiful country and I think about being a teacher in my future. It is also good to have a GAP year between my studies. The country is so clean and the people are very kind. I love Tahuna and all my schools. Miss Xu is a talented musician and plays Gu Qin.
Also new to the Cluster and Tahuna is Miss Man Xiangsong. Man Lao Shi came to Dunedin "because Dunedin is very beautiful and I really wanted to come to New Zealand because it is so safe". Man Lao Shi has been working for three years in Shandong province as an administration executive for a large mining conglomerate. Man Lao Shi is also a talented musician and artist. She also says she is a masterful cook.
All three are Masters students and have goals to be educators in the future.
