Principal News
Success is one of the school's values and the last three weeks have been very successful across a range of areas.
A special well done to the following successful groups and individuals:
- Our mathematicians who came 3rd in the O'Mathalon competition
- Our top basketball teams who either won their grade or came 2nd or 3rd.
- Our netball teams who won four of their grades
- The school rock band that won the rock quest
- Our Cross Country athletes who performed so well at Ariki and the Otago Cross Country
Thank you to the parents who have helped support their child to find this success and a special thank you to the many teachers and parents who give up their time to coach/manage teams. We can't do it without you.
It is also important to thank the outgoing Board of Trustees who will be having their last Board meeting on Monday night. They have steered the school through a very important stage in Tahuna's history including major property works in the redevelopment of the main block and the appointment of a new Principal. These two events take a considerable amount of time and effort alone not to mention the many hours they have put into governing every other part of Tahuna Normal Intermediate School. A special thank you to Rebecca Campbell who is standing down at this meeting for her time and service to the school. Finally, I would like to thank all of the candidates who have put their names forward for election. The least we can do as a community is to exercise our democratic rights and vote for our new Board. Elections close on the 14th of September.
