Scaling out the School!
If you ever need an architect room 7's ready to help! For the past weeks room 7 has been learning the ins and outs on maps, What to do,What to know,How to find it out, how to create a map and so much more!
We started off by drawing a birds eye view of our bedroom at home, including the correct measurements Y axis and X axis. Then we began to learn about the scales of maps and distance. Our next task was to draw a square 20cm by 20cm draw a picture inside it then to down size it so that is 10cm by 10cm and draw the same picture exactly the same, This is downsizing the scale. For the next challenge we had to discover what latitude and longitude is used for and what it means otherwise this activity is not possible. Eventually we began the task, What we did was we choose a country/city found the degrees then wrote a few more down in our books like Dunedin is 45 latitude and 170 longitude. After that we found a buddy and ask them to find out what countries and cities we had chosen, We told them the degrees and then they had to figure out what place we had chosen. Later on that week we went outside and began measuring out the playground doing a birds eye view and side view sketching it out in our books. We made sure not a line was wrong, we had the perfect measurements!
