Local Football Stars Shine Bright!

A massive shout-out to three of our local football talents—Charlotte Evans, Rose Connor, and Claudia Nicholson—who have been racking up the victories and individual honours both here and across the Tasman!

Playing for their DCR Rebels team, the trio were instrumental in securing a massive win at the South Island Under 14 Tournament during the recent school holidays. In a brilliant team effort, they took out the title, with Charlotte also taking home the well-deserved Team MVP award. This victory caps off an already successful year for the Rebels, who also clinched the Alan Fraser Tournament in Kaiapoi back in the July school break.

International Success for Charlotte Evans

The wins didn't stop there for Charlotte Evans. She's just returned from an incredible international experience representing the prestigious Ricki Herbert Academy (RH3) in Australia's biggest girls' football tournament.

Playing in the Under 13 team, Charlotte was a standout on the pitch. Her team put in a stellar performance, battling their way through the competition to make the semi-finals, ultimately losing a tight 2-0 match to the eventual tournament winners. Finishing in the top 4 out of 15 teams is a massive achievement!

Adding to her accomplishments, Charlotte was also asked to step up and play a game for the RH3 Under 15 team while in Australia—and she even managed to score a goal! Her fantastic performance throughout the tournament was recognised at the RH3 squad awards, where she was honoured with the Young Player of the Tournament award.

Well done to Charlotte, Rose, and Claudia! We're incredibly proud to see you representing our region with such success. Keep up the brilliant work on the pitch!
