Rice Pudding Recipe

Jazz sent in a favourite recipe of hers. Here is how she makes this delicious dish! This is a dish that I used to ask my mum to make for me when I was a little girl! So when Jazz sent it in, it made me want to give it a go too!

Ingredients

¾ cup of rice

2 cups of milk - divided

⅓ cup of white sugar

¼ teaspoon of salt

1 beaten egg

⅔ cup if golden raisins

1 tablespoon of butter

½ teaspoon vanilla essence

Recipe

Bring 1 ½ cups of water to a boil in a pot, stir rice into boiling water and reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

In a clean pot combine all the cooked rice with 1 ½ cups of milk sugar and salt. Cook over medium heat until thick and creamy. (15-20 mins)

Stir in remaining ½ cup of milk, beaten egg and raisins, cook 2 minutes more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
