Year 7 News
What a fantastic term we have had working on our PBL projects.
The Year 7 students have had a great term working on their PBL Projects. They have found a variety of solutions on how to reduce waste here at Tahuna as well as at home. The Year 7's all learned how to program Lego dump trucks to sort waste. They explored the ocean with the Marine Science Department in a virtual lesson on the ocean and protecting it.
Room 8 presented an interesting paper each week informing the school about the waste management going on. Room 6 looked at making worm farms and made models of their designs. Room 5 looked at various ways to use paper pulp while Room 4 looked at alternative uses for our food wastage. Room 3 made a logo for the school and Room 1 used chip packets to make a thermal blanket. Room 18 made beeswax wraps for their lunches. Room 19 worked on a website and Room 20 looked at ways to sort our rubbish.
Thank you to all the parents who came for Parent Interviews last week. It was good to see you again and talk with you about your child and share how they have been doing over the past two terms.
Next term the Year 7's will be heading out to the Art Gallery and classroom teachers will be looking for some parent helpers to accompany them.
We have six weeks of regular swimming lessons starting next term. Classroom teachers will be looking for helpers to join them. Please contact your child's classroom teacher if you are able to assist.
