Congrats to the Tahuna 1st XI
An impressive display of teamwork, game sense and individual skill, saw our football team convincingly take out their game against Oamaru Intermediate School.
With not much time together it was going to be interesting to see how the team gelled, communicated and formed links with one another. From the kick-off it was clear this wasn't going to be a challenge for this young team as the adjusted and learned so quickly.
Regular goals kept the scoreboard ticking over, but this didn't mean the team took unnecessary risks, lost their shape or their discipline.
The final 9-1 scoreline was fitting for the team's overall performance.
It was an absolute privilege managing these young footballers on our exchange. They each represented themselves and their school proudly.
