Seaside field trip searches for jewels

Fridays are a chance to make something precious for students in the year 8 jewellery elective.

From plaiting friendship bands to laser-cutting leather, Friday's jewellery elective in the design tech workshop has offered year 8 students a chance to explore a wide variety of materials and, in a field trip earlier this month, the seashore. We are lucky to have such a beautiful beach a few minutes' walk from school, and the shells, feathers and sea glass found by our beachcombers inspired new artworks.
