Tahuna Represents on ANZAC Day

At 6am on the 25th of April, a small but dedicated group of Tahuna students assembled in Queen's Garden to join servicemen past and present, community groups and school pupils across Dunedin, to march in the Dawn parade.

The Tahuna group stood alongside the canon and although the 2 shots were deafening, the students stood proud.  As dignitaries and invited speakers spoke, songs were sung and it was obvious that the students who had made the effort to come to this service, were attending to pay their own respect in this way.  Their behaviour was exemplary and the school can be very proud of each and every one of them.

At 9:30am  Ariana Reese joined invited guests such as the Mayor, Lox Kellas head of the RSA, Chief Petty Officer Peter Gee (With Ariana in the photo) at the ANZAC service at Andy Bay cemetery.  Ariana read the Ode of Remembrance in Maori fluently then in English.  Her dignified composure and confident delivery were commented by many.  Again she was a real credit to the school.
