Year 8 Term 1 2022

Wow Term 1 has started with a roar, although a slightly masked one! So far classes have been busily preparing for camps which kick off in week 3. 

There have also been lots of sports teams notices go out and these have been posted on our website and emailed out to parents- check what is on offer at Tahuna and ask your child if they want to give a new sport a go!

HPV videos and an emailed notice form the SDHB have been shared. HPV forms have been sent home this week (week 2). It would be great if they could be back with classroom teachers as soon as possible so we can send them onto SDHB. These vaccinations will be held in week 1 of term 2. 

This year our major STEAM focus is on Kaitiakianga - Guardianship. Term 1 will focus on what means to be a guardian. This will be interwoven with our Social Science studies and history of New Zealand units 

Meet the teacher evening has morphed into a meet the teacher webinar which, at the time of writing, teachers are busily creating to share with parents.

I am certainly looking forward to an exciting term with lots of engaging activities for our Year 8 team.
