Erling Haaland by Lewis Rae
Introduction
Have you heard of Erling Haaland? Well Erling Braut Haaland is an amazing footballer who plays for Norway and Manchester City. He is born on the 21st of July, 2000 in Leeds, England. His mothers name is Gry Marita Braut and his fathers name is Alfie Haaland, when Erling was born his dad was playing in the premier league for Leeds United.
Early Life
When Erling was only 3 he moved to Bryne, Norway and since his dad was a professional footballer for Manchester City and Leeds United, his dad decided he wanted Erling to play football like him. At 5 years old Erling started to play football for a local team and he performed amazingly and now he holds the record for the highest standing jump for a 5 year old at 1.63 meters!
Club Career
From 2005 to 2016 Erling played for his hometown club in Bryne and in 2017 when he was 17 he moved to Molde football club for his first professional football game. Erling stayed in Molde for 2 years, in January 2019 he then moved to the Austrian league to play for Red Bull Salzburg where he showed an amazing talent so in December 2019 he moved to Borussia Dortmund in Germany. After 3 years in Germany in 2022 the 6 time Premier League winning team Manchester City gave Erling a 60 million euro offer that he could not refuse. Erling now plays for Manchester City and the Norway National Team as a striker.
Achievements
Erling Haaland’s list of achievements goes on for miles but he has some amazing achievements. His biggest achievement was winning the Austrian Cup and being the Austrian champion with Red Bull Salzburg.
He also has won the German cup with Borussia Dortmund in the 20/21 season and he has won footballer of the year for Norway in 2022, 2021, 2020 and Austrian league footballer of the year in 2019. Erling won Borussia Dortmund striker of the year in the 20/21 and 21/22 season. Some of his achievements this season are having more hat-tricks than all of the other premier league players combined. Erling has also participated in 4 UEFA Champions League twice for Borussia Dortmund, once for Red Bull Salzburg and once for Manchester City. He has scored 198 goals in his professional career so far.
Conclusion
Erling Haaland has a huge role for Manchester City, but he has recently picked up a hamstring injury so he will be out for the international games, but hopefully he will be alright for the champions league as Erling could help Manchester City to their first ever UEFA Champions League.
