In the first week of Term 1, all Year 7 students took part in a brief specialist orientation programme where they visited each of the subject areas.

Last week we welcomed Year 7 students to Design Technology, Food & Textiles Technology, Hard Materials and Visual Art to begin their Specialist programme at Tahuna. Students were straight into learning about safety procedures, correct tool/equipment use and of course hands on activities such as designing and making pizzas, and creating their own jewellery.

Year 8 students returned this week and in Design Tech they have started an engineering project with a tower building challenge. In Hard Materials they have started designing a white pine small structure. In Food Technology students have created snack platters, bread cases and homemade muesli bars.
