Chaotic Chemicals Cause Curiosity...
There were thrills, spills, and chemicals when Dr Dave Warren and his team of minions arrived here at Tahuna Normal Intermediate .
We started off with liquid nitrogen that was freezing (-196℃), which made luminous clouds all over the floor.
Balloons exploded while others shrunk. Then they put liquid nitrogen into boiling water and a huge cloud arose from the big tub. A nitrogen flame thrower was fired across the room. Then two students from each class (Harper G and Daniel from room 21) got to go up on stage and blow through burger rings that were freezing cold from nitrogen, and a cloud came out through the center of the ring. They were very cold and they stuck to my lips. More victims (Sofia) were invited up to blow powder into the flames and make the flames green, red, orange and sparkly. Victims (Jake, Elyana, and Charlie from Room 21) were lucky enough to be invited up to the front of the room to set fire to bubbles in their hands. They first put bubbles into their hands and then lit the bubbles with a fire lighter and a jet of fire shot up from their hands. It was really cool and also fun to watch. I wonder what our PBL next term is going to look like?
