Two new positions for 2025

As much as we focus on successfully completing this year, we also start to make plans for 2025.

We would like to announce that we have created two new roles within our school for 2025.

The first is a new Deputy Principal position. Roddy Scoles will continue to focus on student welfare and support, school transition and a whole host of other jobs he has. The new deputy principal will focus on teaching and learning, staff professional development, and ensuring that we train the future teachers of New Zealand to the highest standard. We can announce that Ann Stevenson has been awarded this job. Many of you will know Ann from the work she has done at St Clair Primary School. More recently, she has been working at Otago University, where she has been supporting schools in implementing the new curriculum and as a lecturer at the College of Education.

For our second announcement, Sarah Bartley has been appointed as our new school counsellor. Sarah is a trained counsellor and teacher and will be working with us for four days a week. This will significantly decrease our wait time for students to access counselling. Sarah is also a trained teacher and we will be utilising her skills to support students with their mathematics.

We are very lucky to have two highly accomplished and skilled teachers join the team in 2025.
