EPRO 8 2025

Three days, multiple builds and 3rd overall.

This year, 36 students competed in the first round of EPRO8 to secure their spot in one of our four teams heading off to the Otago Championships. The school competition was tough but the Otago Competition proved even tougher.

During the heats, we had 4 teams trying to complete the building challenges of the Barrier Arm, Motorised Shopping Trolley, Fooseball and Laser Target. Our teams opted for the Barrier Arm, Motorised Shopping Trolley. This build proved to be challenging and teams made excellent decisions about changing and clocking up more points on another build.

We had three teams competing in the Grand Final, and this time around, the builds were all based on action TV shows. There was Indiana Jones, Back to the Future and Thunderbirds. Two of our teams opted for Thunderbirds, and the other team opted for Indiana Jones, where they had to build a track and escape the boulder.

Congratulations to the Tahuna Onesies, who came third in the Grand Final. Well done to all the teams who competed in the Grand Final; it was a tough competition, and you did yourselves proud.
