Visual Art: In the Art Room Year 8 students have been busy finishing off artwork based on athletes of the Olympic games and getting inspiration from artists to create their own original work. Take a look at some amazing pieces of art and our students at work.

The Year 7 students are learning about colour theory and painting the colour wheel to surround their Olympic athletes.

E-Tech: Students have been using the laser cutter to help create resources for their upcoming Olympic inspired days with local primary schools. Their has been careful consideration when designing the winning medals.

Food Technology: Students have been researching and exploring foods from different countries, working independently in their kitchen groups. An amazing variety of finished products including risotto, panna cotta, fortune cookies, gelato, pao de queijo and tanghulu.

Hard Materials: A great stint in the Hard Materials workshop has been had by all over the last few weeks. All students have worked through designing and constructing a storage project to suit a range of purposes, (mostly to hide money in from brothers/sisters!). Some really tidy work has been achieved and all are moving into Device stands and bookend projects which are progressing along nicely. All students are learning how our native timbers in Aoteroa can be resourced and recycled to bring some of these projects to life. A big well done to the students who have designed and are in the process of constructing their outdoor herb gardens.
