19A Tirohanga Camp 2021 - Day 1

It was action stations as 19A headed off on our camp!!

It was your usual wednesday morning , but not for Rm 19A as they were going to school camp . Everyone was so excited to start this fun journey . We all arrived at school with our bags and day packs ready for camp . We got our home baking handed in and were ready to go . When the 8:50 bell rang we packed up the bus and found our seats .

On the bus we chatted to the person beside us until we reached our tramp destination . As we started the tramp most people were already tired and we were not even half way there yet . With a rocky track and a thin path it was quite the adventure . On the way back we stopped close to the end of the track, went down by the river and had lunch . Some people played around in the water .

Then we arrived at camp tirohanga and unpacked everything on the bus and Mr. Min took us on a little tour of the camp . Soon after Mr. Min took a demo on how to put up our tents. After we had our tents up we had afterAfternoon tea . Soon after we had free time , some people got out a ball , some went on the trampoline and some just chilled .

Later at night we were told to get all our war gear so we could go see the glow worms after the armados show . When armadao arrived he showed us a map of the southern hemisphere and we cut out a paper map and went out to look at the stars . After that armado showed us what light is the strongest and what is the weakest . Followed by Cooper dipping his hands in soap and counting down from three and then lighting Cooper's hands on fire . Mr . Min got a sick slow mo video of Cooper and the fire .

Finally we went to see the glow worms down in the forest . We had to keep as many lights off as possible to avoid the glow worms to stop glowing . When we got there we counted over 1 hundred glow worms more than any of the groups from the previous sessions . When we walked back we played some games with friends in the hall and most people were a bit tired so we went to bed .

I loved this camp because there were so many fun activities and I hope that next year room 19A will have an even more exciting camp in years to come which will be hard to beat.
