Candidate Statement August 2022

My name is Sarah Simmers. I am a current member of Tahuna's Board of Trustees. My oldest son Lou is at Tahuna (Room 9, Mr Sneddon’s class) and our middle child Max will be coming next year. I am a former Tahuna student myself!

I joined Tahuna's Board of Trustees because I was keen to be more involved with the school and to use my legal and governance experience to assist the school. The Board has a fundamental role in governing and supporting the School in an increasingly challenging environment.

I am a corporate and commercial lawyer with Anderson Lloyd. I have been with Anderson Lloyd since 2002 and have been a Partner since 2008.

I am also a Trustee of the Otago Youth Wellness Trust, I chair the organising committee of the Cancer Society Spring Ball and I have previously been on the Dunedin Hospital Early Childhood Centre's governance committee.
