Tūmataueka defend their title and are the 2026 Tahuna Current Events Champions!

The houses battled it out over six categories to determine which house truly knew their current events.

After a trial a few weeks back, we named our house teams for the 2026 Current Events Quiz.

Students spent their time digesting what's going on around the world (turns out quite a lot is happening in the world right now!)

We had six rounds on Aotearoa news, world news, flags of the world, Who Am I?, sports news, and general knowledge. Ten questions in each round. Teams got to select a Joker round where they could double their points.

After an hour of tough competition, there was only one point separating 1st from second, with Tūmateueka taking out the win for the second year in a row. Valuable house points and the trophy are all yours!
