R13 and R17 Visit Rongo Stone
On the 8th of April, Rm 13 and 17 went on a walk to the Rongo stone. We had all been learning about Parihaka in class and we all went on the walk to see an important part of history right on our doorstep.
When we got to the stone we all talked about the history behind it. We were all quite shocked to hear how people were treated. In 2 small groups we went and had a look. Underneath the stone there are really interesting facts about the stone and the history of Māori people in Dunedin. It was really interesting to read the facts about the history of the stone and to hear about the terrible things that happened.
