40 Hour Challenge 2024 - it's time to sign up!
The 40 Hour Challenge is just a couple of weeks away. Sign up forms were given out at assembly on Friday and more will be available from the School Office throughout next week.
The World Vision 40 Hour Challenge has been part of the landscape at Tahuna for at least 15 years. After attending the World Vision Junior Youth Conference at the start of Term 2 and having completed a workshop with Taine from World Vision, a group of Tahuna House Leaders are now running this year's 40 Hour Challenge for the school.
The first step is for students to get and return a sign up form - this is so that families are fully aware of their plans.
Next, students need to choose a Challenge and get some sponsors. Every little bit counts so even if someone raises $10, they can help make a big difference. A Challenge can be completed individually or friends might choose to do a Challenge together.
This year's fundraising is to support the regreening of forests and farmland in Timor Leste.
After choosing a Challenge and finding some sponsors, students need to either sign up to the Tahuna 40 Hour Challenge page online (we'll explain how to do this in the school notices) or collect a sponsorship booklet from Room 1. Funds can either be sent in online or brought in as cash with a sponsorship booklet.
We've got some exciting new initiatives this year: every single student who completes the Challenge will earn House Points for their House. We'll also have prizes for the top three fundraisers plus spot prizes which could be won by anyone who completes the Challenge.
Thanks in advance to all students who plan on taking part and to all families and sponsors for their support.
