Year 7 News

Welcome to all our wonderful Year 7 students..

A warm welcome back to school everyone! It's fantastic to see the energy and enthusiasm in the air as we kick off another exciting term. A special welcome to our Year 7 students – you've all settled in brilliantly, and it's been wonderful getting to know you over the past few weeks. We hope you're feeling at home here at Tahuna already.

It's been brilliant to see so many students signing up for sports! From futsal and touch rugby to volleyball. It's fantastic to see and we encourage everyone to get involved and give something new a try.

The EPro8 Technology Challenge trials are also in full swing! We've had a phenomenal 36 students competing in the school competition, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. The standard has been incredibly high, and we're excited to see who will make it through to the next round. A huge congratulations to everyone who has participated so far.

Project-based learning is well underway, and we're thrilled to see the innovative and engaging projects taking shape in our classrooms. This term, many classes are diving into the world of escape rooms, working together to solve puzzles, crack codes, and “escape” within the time limit. These immersive experiences are a fantastic way to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, all while having a lot of fun. We can't wait to see what everyone accomplishes throughout the term.

School camp preparations are well underway with all Year 7 children enjoying camp first aid lessons through St Johns. They have also been busy participating in a variety of team-building activities as they get to know their new classmates.

Stay tuned for more updates and exciting news in the coming weeks!
