Tirohanga - Day 2

Mines. Challenges. Horror

The sun was creeping over the hills - not, day 2 was upon us! Kids were woken up by a soundtrack personally curated by Mr Min, not all appreciated my music taste. First up it was fitness in the hall to work up an appetite for our brekkie.

After brekkie it was time to tackle a bunch of different activities in our activity groups. We all had a go at air rifle shooting, giant puzzles, grass ski racing and tackling the confidence course. The weather meant we took a few breaks, but almost all of us got through all the rotations. Thanks to our parents, Mrs T.K, Alex and Hazel for their guidance, support and leadership, our lunch of pies and pizza never tasted so good!

In the afternoon we charged the water slide! The cooler weather didn't hold anyone back and the kids were having the best time slipping, sliding, surfing and building their confidence after each slide.

After showers and a clean up we were ready for a dinner of BBQ build your own burgers on the BBQ (thanks Alex). We completed our diary writing and headed into campfire stories or quiet time in another lounge options - the stories were a little scary, but we loved the rush of adrenaline. We heard all about the camp counsellor wandering the hills calling our TONIE!!!!! (ask your child....)

Then for those who wanted extra thrills we headed into the forest around 10pm for a night walk (no light, just a rope to guide us) where we encountered lots of friendly (and not so friendly) locals. Including a clown with sparks flying around him - no joke HAHA.

The night wrapped up with an epic few games of spotlight before the run drove us to our beds.
