Robocup Junior 2021

Congratulations to Lou Simmers and Michael Kirkland for coming second in last weekends competition.

On Saturday the 26th of June, two Tahuna teams competed in the Otago Robocup Junior competition held at the Dunedin Baptist Church.

Our two teams were competing against six other teams in the theatre competition. This competition involved building and programming the robots to present a short play. All the movements of their robots were choreographed to  music or through their own narration.

Lou and Michael who gained second place, had a "BAKERBOT 9000 which delivered deadly muffins to the mayor. They had created their own music for the background and did a voice over narration during the performance.

We had DJ Yeo Yeo spinning his turntables and pumping out the tunes on the dance floor. Alex and Mouhammad worked hard on their robots. Alex's turntables were programmed to spin with the rhythm of the music he composed himself.
