Music
By Ruby Sadgrove
So far in Term 1 and Term 2 we have been going for music lessons with Mrs Bowen. Mrs Bowen has given us so many amazing lessons like learning what sound is and beats. My favourite lesson she has taught us was our last lesson which was going around to different tables with different things on them. The first table I was on had all these sweet little and big music boxes.
On the next table we had these little boxes that you can make music out of. You had drums on it and beats to make your own song with it. That was my favourite table in the lesson.
On the third table was mostly an experiment on the table. You had different sizes of wine glasses. What we did with the wine glasses is you put any amount of water in it and get your fingers wet, then use your finger and circle on the brim of it and it makes a sound.
Then on the fourth table was slinky attached to a cardboard box, when you hit the slinky it made the sound of thunder. After that we went to our last rotation and on the table were Purerehua a Māori instrument and Mrs Bowen told us we could draw a sketch of a design to put on the Purerehua. The Purerehua made a motorbike sound and that was my favorite lesson.
