ICAS exams were a BIG hit in 2026!

ICAS exams are a great opportunity for students/kā ākonga looking for additional academic challenge and extension, experience with sitting exams, the opportunity for new challenges and to develop confidence.

Over 41 countries (including Australia and New Zealand) participate in ICAS exams each year to give students a chance to see where they stack up against other students and to extend students further. Exams can be sat in the following subjects: Writing, English, Digital Technologies, Science, Spelling and Mathematics.

Here at Tahuna we had around 50 students sitting over 100 exams over term three.

Grades are either:

  • High Distinction: Awarded to the top 1% of participants in a subject. * Recognised at assembly

  • Distinction: Awarded to the next 10% of participants. * Recognised at assembly

  • Credit: Awarded to the next 25% of participants.

  • Merit: Awarded to the next 10% of participants.

  • Participation: Given to all other remaining students who complete the assessment

Good luck to all our ICAS participants when the results come in towards the end of term three/early term four.
