Casual Friday this coming week - 20th September
The School Council receives many requests for support throughout the year. This Friday, for the first time, we'll be supporting the work of the Ōtepoti-Dunedin Whānau Refuge.
Last Friday, Zara from the Refuge visited Tahuna and spoke with our school councillors and House Leaders about the work of the Refuge.
We learnt about how the Refuge supports families in many ways. One of those is by providing food to around 20 families every week. Much of the fresh food is supplied by KiwiHarvest. However, the Refuge also needs large amounts of non-perishable food and that's where we come in.
As part of this coming week's Casual Friday, students are asked to bring in an item (more than one is welcome, of course!) for the Refuge's kai pantry. Possible items include pasta, rice, cans of fruit/vegetables/soup, jars of sauces, cereals, muesli bars, dried beans, soup mixes etc.
Items can be brought in any day up to and including Friday.
All donations will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
The Tahuna School Council 2024
