Mahuika are the 2025 Tahuna Spelling Bee Champs!

Mahuika took out the 2025 Tahuna House Spelling Bee with a strong display!

With 32 competitors representing some of the top spellers at kura, it was a tough ask to take out this year's competition.

With 10 categories including food & cooking, sports, pop culture, astronomy, acronyms, word detective, plus more, the competitors were really tested.

Team 1 from Mahuika took it out this year with a team from Tāne Mahuta and a Takaroa team taking out the top three spots.

Well done to all participants, but especially the winning team of Elli De Leon, Macklin Hollick, Leeyah Anthony and Braeden Power.
