Tomahawk Lagoon.

What a variety of sound and splendor at the lagoon this week.

Team Seven ventured out to the lagoon on Wednesday and were greeted by korimako, tūi, pīwakawaka, and pukeho. The increased variety of bird life was refreshing and, highlighted how quickly the wildlife changes around the lagoon.

The teams are now looking beyond the bug life and are working out ways to observe and record the plant life in the lagoon. Unfortunately, there wasn't much seagrass left following the opening of the duck shooting season as many ducks flocked to the safety of the lagoon.

Over the next few visits, the teams will be trying to work out the best way to collect the plant life data. They will trial underwater cameras and M2 grids before making the decision about which one works best.
