Dunedin primary and Intermediate School Triathlon!

The 2021 Dunedin primary schools triathlon was held in Port Chalmers on Watson park. Getting into the clubrooms was a huge squeeze as there were so many people there. They had a safety briefing for the year 5 and 6’s. They ran first and some people had huge sweats and were puffing after the first 50 meters. They then had the year 7/8 briefing and told us where to go and specific information. Then the individuals were off and then the teams runners went.

The Tahuna people started in the middle and gradually came in front as the race progressed. On the run you had to do 2 laps of the street but Eden got told by the helper to only do one. When the race finished we came second but got a 5 min time penalty and finished 13th. Nico’s team came 10th and didn't quite get into Otago’s. Camryn’s team came 4th and Kaia’s team came 2nd. 

Good luck to the following students from Room 14 who are competing in the Otago Triathlon on the 8th April.
